“Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will elude, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder."
Hi everyone, my name is Danielle, and my pronouns are she/her. Do you struggle to find your path to happiness? Do you feel that your negative thoughts prevent you from reaching happiness? It is often difficult to find the positive in life when the negativity in our lives starts to take priority. I am here to help you reframe negative thoughts and find your way back to happiness. Sometimes it is own negativity and thought patterns that get in the way of a happy life. My goal is to create a safe space where the client is comfortable disclosing their feelings. I will always address you with unrelenting kindness and acceptance. This space is yours- whether you are happy, sad, angry, need to vent, yell, or cry— this is your place to do that.Â

Experience:
My first experience counseling was in graduate school, when I interned at the PAC program in Brooklyn, NY, providing group and individual therapy for adults with substance use issues. I additionally interned at Pride for Youth in Nassau County, providing support for adolescents and young adults in the LGBT+ community.Â
I started my first job as a limited permit mental health counselor at North Star Mental Health Counseling in Commack, NY, where I worked for three years providing individual counseling sessions for a variety of mental health issues, including OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment disorders, LGBT+ issues, postpartum difficulties, and relationship discord. My clinical approach is informed by both professional training and lived experience, allowing me to bring a unique level of empathetic understanding, compassion, and personally meaningful perspective to the therapeutic relationship. I have a deep passion for helping others feel understood and supported.Â
I look forward to working with you!
